7,000 New Jobs in DFW for October!

The numbers are out and the Dallas / Fort Worth area is one of the few bright spots in the current economic decline. 7,000 new jobs were added in our area in October, for a year to year increase of 50,000 new jobs. This is especially strong since the majority of the construction layoffs in our area have been completed. I do not believe our area to continue to run counter to the national trends in a prolonged recession, sooner or later we will get hit, but the continued addition of jobs at this time means more renters and more people who can pay their rent and be good tenants.

The source of this information is this news release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Go to this link and read the actual release

We are seeing great concern about the economy by all our tenants. Many are buckling down and making sure they are meeting their basic obligations for if/when the recession hits them. All in all this is a good thing, people are trying to be more responsible and protecting their ability to take care of the basics of food and shelter.
